Danielle Collins, Pulse Percussion World Co-Director
This is Danielle’s fifth year on staff at Pulse Percussion Ensemble and is currently the Co-Director of the World ensemble as well as the Instrumental Music Director at Rosemead HS. She has worked with the Blue Knights Drum & Bugle Corps and various percussion ensembles throughout Southern California. She has performance experience with the Vanguard Cadets, the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps, Black Knights and Pulse Percussion as a charter member.
She recently received her Bachelor of Music degree in Percussion and Education from the Cole Conservatory at CSU Long Beach.

Richie Sebastian, Pulse Percussion World Co-Director
This is Richie's first year on staff with Pulse. He currently teaches AP Music Theory and is the Marching Band/Drumline/Color Guard Director at Los Alamitos High School. Richie has taught all levels of music (elementary school, middle school, high school and city college). He has performance experience as a tuba player with the Pasadena City College Tournament of Roses Honor Band and was even the Drum Major of the group for the 2001 Rose Parade. Richie was the brass caption head of the Impulse Drum & Bugle Corps for two years.
He received his Bachelor's of Arts degree in Music Education and Single Subject Teaching Credential from Cal State Northridge.

John Mapes, Program Coordinator, Battery and Drill Designer
This is John’s fifth year on staff with Pulse. He is a full-time percussion designer and educator involved in teaching over 20 high school and independent percussion programs in Southern California since 1997. His marching experience includes Velvet Knights and Pacific Crest Drum and Bugle Corps organizations. He received his Bachelor of Arts in percussion from California State University Long Beach, in the spring of 2000.
He is currently the Percussion Director at Chino Hills HS and works with the Blue Devil B Corps as the percussion arranger from 2007 to the present. He was the Battery Arranger/ Percussion Caption Head for the Esperanza Drum and Bugle Corps from San Diego, CA from 2002-2006.
John is a Yamaha Artist, a member of the Vic Firth Educational team, a Remo artist and a WGI Percussion Steering Committee/Advisory Board member. He is also a principle percussion arranger for JKS music and a co-founder of www.box-six.com, a website compiling original indoor percussion and marching band works by John and Ian.

Ian Grom, Front Ensemble Coordinator/Arranger
This is Ian’s fifth year on staff at Pulse. He is a performer, composer and educator based out of Southern California. He received his Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance from California State University Long Beach, where he specialized in drum set, marimba and composition.
He currently teaches, designs, and composes for the indoor percussion programs at Chino Hills HS, and Los Alamitos HS. He also composes original Marching Band shows for several HS programs around the country. In the summer of 2009 Ian was brought on as the electronics consultant/arranger with the world famous Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps.
Ian is a Yamaha Artist, a member of the Vic Firth Educational team and a WGI Percussion Advisory Board member. In the summer of 2008, he launched www.box-six.com which offers a large library of original indoor percussion and marching band shows composed with fellow arranger John Mapes.

Glen Crosby, Ensemble Consultant
This is Glen’s fourth year on staff an the ensemble consultant at Pulse. He is currently the Caption Head and Arranger for The Academy Drum & Bugle Corps. Mr. Crosby's drum corps performance experience includes being a four year member of the Concord Blue Devils percussion section during the 1980s.
Since then, Glen has been an instructor/clinician for such groups as the Garfield Cadets, Blue Knights, Glassmen and the Velvet Knights. Glen is currently a percussion specialist for several school programs and served with the Santa Clara Vanguard staff for almost 15 years.

Eric Shriver, Ensemble Coordinator, Snare tech
Eric Shriver is in his fifth year on Pulse staff. He is currently the Snare Tech for Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps from Canton, OH and is the Percussion Director at Rowland HS and Alvarado Intermediate in Rowland Heights, CA.
His performance experience includes programs such as Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps (Section Leader), Pulse Percussion (Section Leader/Charter Member), Pacific Crest Drum and Bugle Corps, RCC marching band, and Black Knights Indoor Drumline. Eric graduated from Cal Poly Pomona University last spring with his degree in Music Industry Studies (Business Emphasis).

Pete Lucero, Staff Coordinator, Tenor Tech
This is Pete’s seventh year on staff at Pulse Percussion. His previously taught at the Pacific Crest Drum and Bugle Corps and is currently the percussion director at Great Oak and Vista Murrieta HS’s. This will be Petes second year serving on the Pulse board of directors.
Pete has performed all over the world in award winning ensembles such as Northglenn HS, the Blue Knights Percussion Ensemble, the Blue Knights Drum & Bugle Corps, the RCC Winter Drumline and the Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps. He has also been involved with Blue Devils Entertainment and was a 4 year performing member in the show "Riptide" at Sea world San Diego from 2005-2008.

Jesus Alcantar, Snare Tech
Jesus was on Pulse staff back in 2006 and 2007. He returned for the 2011 season and will now be on staff for his fourth year. Jesus currently teaches at South Hills HS and Arcadia HS. His performance experience includes Patriots Drum & Bugle Corps and the Blue Devils Drum & Bugle Corps.

Jeremy Riley, Snare Tech
This is Jeremy’s second year on staff. He has taught many percussion programs in Southern CA and is currently teaching Chino Hills and Los Alamitos HS’s. Jeremy went to Pacifica HS and was a performing member of the Esperanza Drum & Bugle Corps. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Cal State University Long Beach.

Ryan Anderson, Tenor Tech
This is Ryan’s second year on staff with Pulse Percussion as a tenor tech. Ryan’s currently teaches Los Alamitos and Chino Hills HS’s and is the percussion director at Townsend junior High School. He taught the Madison Scouts and Blue Devils B Drum and Bugle Corps and is currently the Tenor tech for the Carolina Crown Drum & Bugle Corps.
Ryan’s performance experience includes Esperanza Drum and Bugle Corps, RCC Marching band, Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps (section leader 07) and RCC winter percussion. Ryan was also a charter member of Pulse in 2005!

Dave Miranda, Bass Drum Tech
This is Dave’s second year on staff as a bass tech. He was a member of Pulse from 2007-2010. He currently teaches at Rancho Cucamonga HS and other various programs around Southern California. He was the bass tech at the Troopers Drum & Bugle corps and is now teaching at the Santa Clara Vanguard.
His corps experience includes the Pacific Crest, Santa Clara Vanguard and Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps.
Dave lives in Downey, CA
Nathan Ward, Bass Drum Tech
Nathan worked with the Pulse open line last season and this will be his first full time year on staff with Pulse World. He currently teaches at Arcadia HS and a few other local programs. He was also on staff with the Sacramento Mandarins this past summer.
His performance experience includes the Pacific Crest Drum &Bugle corps and Pulse Percussion. He is currently finishing up his degree in Philosophy from California University Long Beach.

Alicia Turner, Cymbal Tech
This will be Alicia’s first year on staff with Pulse. She has taught many programs across Southern California. Her performance experience includes the Santa Clara Vanguard Drum & Bugle Corps, Black Knights Percussion ensemble and the RCC Winter Drumline.
She graduated from the New York University of Technology and is working as a Pharmaceutical Marketing company.

David Von Behren, Cymbal Tech
This will be David’s first year on staff with Pulse. His performance experience includes the Madison Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps, the Sacramento Freelancers Percussion ensemble and Music City Mystique. He has taught the Spirit of Atlanta Drum & Bugle Corps and the Minnesota Brass Indoor Drumline and DCA corps. He has taught many local programs in Minnesota and is relocating to Southern California to get on board with Pulse!

Joathan Zuniga, Front Ensemble staff
This is John’s third year on staff with Pulse. He currently works at Los Alamitos HS and El Modena HS. He also helped with the Academy Drum and Bugle corps this past season. He is attending California State University Fullerton in pursuit of a Business Marketing degree.
His performance experience includes the Arizona Academy Drum & Bugle Corps, RCC Winter Drumline and the Blue Devils Drum & Bugle Corps.

Jiyoung Lee, Front Ensemble staff
This is Jiyoung’s first year on staff with Pulse. He went to Chino Hills HS and has been teaching there the past five years. His performance experience includes the Esperanza Drum & Bugle Corps, Pulse Percussion and the Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps.
He graduated from the University of California Irvine in 2010.

Steven Estudillo, Visual Staff
This is Stevens first year on staff with Pulse. He was born and raised in Southern California, is currently a student at California State University, Fullerton. He was a member of Pacific Crest Drum & Bugle Corps (2002 - 2005) and The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps (2006 - 2008). Steven dedicates his time to teaching marching bands, drum lines and color guards in the Southern California area and currently teaches at El Modena High School and Los Alamitos High School.
Steven has been on the visual staff with Pacific Crest Drum and Bugle Corps since 2009, and has been the drill designer since 2010. He has also concurrently been on the visual staff with The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle for since 2009, and is currently the Visual Caption Head.

Paul Nesbit, Visual Staff
This is Paul’s second year on staff with Pulse. He has worked with several Southern California percussion programs and Marching Bands both musically and visually. He taught Los Alamitos HS and Pacifica HS for many years until graduating from California State University Long Beach and actually getting a real job as a Paleontologist.
Paul’s performance experience includes Pacifica High School, Esperanza Drum and Bugle Corps and the Madison Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps.

Vanessa Vendiola, Visual Staff
This is Vanessa’s first year on staff with Pulse. She currently teaches Arcadia HS, South Hills HS and the Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets Drum & Bugle Corps.
Vanessa went to Ayala High School and marched at the Esperanza, Mystical, Impulse and Concord Blue Devils Drum & Bugle Corps. She was a member of Pulse Percussion for four years! She graduated from Cal Poly Pomona in 2010 with a music industry studies degree with an emphasis in business.

Rochelle Mapes, Visual Staff
This is Rochelle’s second year on staff as a Movement Specialist. She comes from a dance background and will bring a fresh perspective to the table. She is on faculty with the classical dance and commercial dance departments at the Orange County School of the Arts and the Center Stage Dance Academy. She is also a part time judge, choreographer and USA dance camp head instructor.
She currently dances with RhetOracle Dance Company and is the operations manager for Box-Six.com.
